Collection and Packaging
A scheduled collection window will be provided by Arta. The art handlers will call the origin contacts with an appointment time, typically a week before arrival. They will call again with a 2 hour window 24 hours in advance of the appointment, and when they are on their way the day of. Appointment schedule flexibility is determined by the shuttle schedule and local offices.
Art handlers will arrive prepared to wrap or pack items for local transport on site. Crating or additional packing will occur back at the local facility before transportation. The team will likely take images and notes of the condition of the object(s) on site before handling or packing them.
Please make sure items are ready for release from a ground level location with a clear pathway.
Dollies, lifts and other moving equipment may be required to maneuver large pieces. If floor, path or walls are sensitive to scratching, please alert the art handlers to place protective materials.
Transportation and Delivery
Shipments will travel via fine art shuttle (climate controlled containers, air ride suspension, dual drivers) or internally via air freight. Depending on the shipment it may travel passenger or cargo. Must fly is an additional service that must be included at the time of booking.
Delivery will be to an inside location on the ground level with a clear pathway. Stairs, elevators or other obstructions may result in additional charges.
All booked services, including unpacking, installation or similar will be performed on site. The art handlers will clean up any debris.
Please know the intended location of the object, art handlers are unable to stay on site to move pieces around. Art handlers cannot move other items at the delivery location.
